I'm in a dilemma where I have to choose a 4th year of Science(AP Chem) or no science at all.

I'm not going to major in physics, so I'm not taking physics. If my school offered an H. Physics or a distance school offered it, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Should I take AP Chem online? I'm interested in chem. I'll have to convince my parents to pay $429 for the course online.

Would colleges judge me if I didn't take an extra year of science?

My schedule already includes:

AP Lit(alternates days w/US Gov)
AP US Gov
AP Cal AB+BC
Band
(Free period-4th)

Fren 2B= Fren 4(online through CSU Sacramento)
Econ 2= Macro Econ(online through Irvine Valley College)

Would my schedule be too busy?

Do you plan to apply to colleges with a major or as undeclared?  If you have selected a major and it's not science, then your schedule as is looks competitive enough.  I don't see how you can do a thorough job with 4 APs, band, and two online courses.  If you were my child and not planning on majoring in science, I'd suggest not adding AP Chem.

If you are applying to highly selective schools, then I would recommend a fourth year of science.

In terms of physics vs. chemistry, what are you planning to major in in college? For pre-med or engineering, for instance, physics might be a better choice over a second year of chemistry, not in terms of admissions per se but in terms of being better prepared for the coursework you'll face. Even chemistry majors will find some knowledge of physics helpful.

You might also want to email the schools you're considering and ask if they have any preference for a second year of chemistry or a year of intro. physics. Some schools do like kids to have bio-chem-physics, others don't care much. I would also suggest that you check with the schools about whether an online chemistry class would be considered in the same light as physics in the classroom. Some schools might prefer the classroom class because of the laboratory time. So, do contact them and see what they say before making your decision.

I'm sorry for posting before I introduced myself.

I think I found a way to take 4 years of Science(including Physics) without taking aP Phys. or regular phys.

I found an independent study University physics course offered by BYU online that I might take.

I have to finish the course in a year. I might try to finish it by Feb.

I have those other college courses, so I'll pace myself more slowly on this course(esp. b/c it has Cal).

It does require some Calculus knowledge, so I'll ask my AP Cal(I'm taking AP Cal this year) teacher to help me and my school's AP Physics teacher to help me(I'm not taking AP physics). Also, I found out that I can add all of the college class I've taken on my high school transcript to raise my GPA and make up for the free period I'll have this year.

I don't want colleges to think I'm slacking off. As I said, I'm still taking Band, so all of my classes aren't necessarily just for colleges.

It doesn't sound like you are a slacker at all! The BYU online courses have very good reputations, so that sounds like a good option. Make sure that your guidance counselor specifically mentions the reasons behind your decision to take the online/non-school courses in his/her recommendation. That will help colleges understand and put your choices in context.

Actually, I might take H. Physics through a virtual school or take AP Chem/ Phys through another high school in my district.

If I can't do that, I'll take Phys. 121 through BYU.

Here is another option for you... The UC system used to have online AP classes. I guess they are stopping them, but they have made them all open enrollemnt - which means free, but without a teacher, so you need to pace yourself.
