On the last day of 7th grade (I'm a rising 8th grader), some friends and I celebrated by putting bottles of water colored with markers underneath the school bus wheels and watching them go pop while the bus ran over them. Unfortunately, we were caught by one of the staff and were brought into the office, where they took down our names.
I don't want to get into any discussion on whether it was dangerous or not (yes, it was), and yes, we should have known better. What kind of punishment do you think we'll receive at the beginning of 8th grade? I'm very worried about this (actually, I'm still worrying) and I hope it won't hinder my path into college.
Also, do move this to the right category if this isn't the right one.Last edited on Wed Jul 4th, 2007 06:27 pm by Squirt

In our school district, your "permanent record" doesn't begin until the first day of high school, 9th grade. Not that they don't keep your elementary/middle school records, but those don't get sent to colleges.
Take your punishment, if any, with grace and humility, not surly grumbling. And don't do anything like that again!

| We have something in junior high called a Saturday school (where you obivously go to school on Saturday) that apparently stays on our permanent record, according to the school staff. So I'm pretty worried about this.

Consider yourself lucky that you are getting to learn this lesson in middle school. Even if it stays on your record, no college is going to make an acceptance decision based on what you did in middle school. And now you know that doing stupid things for the fun of it is not worth jeopordizing your future. A clean record from now till graduation is going to show the colleges that you are able to learn from your mistakes.
In our family, this kind of education is referred to as "things you learn on the way to learning other things."
