Great tool for kids in drama, dance or music, even if they don't plan on a college path in music.  Beneficial information for anyone who will audition, even for the school play, but especially for a summer program or competitive group. Has sample audition evaluation form for Juilliard, Carnegie Mellon, Yale, etc.  Has interview and audition tips and reminders.

Lists of conservatory and college programs, both by school, and by arts, even listing music programs by instrument.

I love these mini book reviews you're doing Wstrdg! Someone must be clearing her bookcases. :)

Carolyn,  I am constantly cleaning my bookshelves.  They would otherwise overwhelm me.  And this college stuff just doesn't age very well.  Get it while it's hot!

This book was our bible back when S was first beginning to look at music schools.  I knew nothing of Internet discussion boards back then, and we used a combination of this book and various teacher referrals and opinions to figure it all out.
