This is not a college review guide. Instead, the book is a tool to learn how to evaluate colleges on your own, especially during the college visit.
If you've been to a few colleges already, and you've compared programs, dorms, lifestyles, finances, and all of the rest, then you may not need this book. If you are a newbie, I'm pretty sure you can find something helpful in here.
The author's approach is to bring up lots of topics, and questions, that you may not have thought about. Not all of these may be important to you, but you should consider them and think, "how does campus X approach this topic?"
The book has 250 (dense) pages of questions. The answers are dependent on your kids' personal preferences. If your son/daughter makes it through this book, they'll have a better idea of what they want to look for BEFORE they begin hitting the internet admissions sites, reading the Prowlers and Fiskes, and especially, visiting the campuses.
