She is going to guage all the schools food against Scripps and the Claremont colleges, which she has eaten at several times for high school events. They have terrific food. I hope one of her schools meets her expectations.
We were at a regional Pomona event last night, and when they mentioned their late evening free snack time, a lot of the boys visibly perked up!

Yes, they have that late night thing. It is supposed to give them energy for all that studying. Pomona has great food, but the best thing about Pomona is Scripps food next door .
My D just got back from revisiting Occidental for a couple days. Her proclamation of the food was, "Food was good." Not much excitement there. When I had lunch at Oxy, I didn't care for the fact that the utensils were plastic. I think that would get old after a while, but I am not going to college.

OW...DD is a sophomore now but will be living in an off campus house next year as a junior with five others. The food was NOT an issue in the decision but she will be happy to make her own food. The Safeway is right near the house...thank goodness.
Yes, I did worry about her being so far away...and I still do. But she loves Santa Clara. The classes are more challenging than she anticipated, and she is working very hard there. This year she has really gotten involved in a lot of school activities and that is good. Now I just worry that she isn't going to do well in her classes. There is ALWAYS something to worry about.
And now back to the topic of the thread...college food.
