I'm responding to this 2006 thread in 2008, since it appears to be the best place to put this post. If Carolyn thinks it's a good a idea to start a "Helpful Links" in the "Preparing for College" topic group, then it should go there.
Just this week, I found a fabulous link for budding young scientists. It was found on the CTY web site, as apparently JHU has helped fund it.
It has huge listings of summer programs, academic competitions, webcasts and podcasts, news about young scientists ... some good stuff here.
