Hello, I'm Donna Martinez, Director of The GW HEATH Resource Center (http://www.heath.gwu.edu).

The HEATH Resource Center is an online clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities. The HEATH Resource Center Clearinghouse has information for students with disabilities on educational disability support services, policies, procedures, adaptations, accessing college or university campuses, career-technical schools, and other postsecondary training entities. We have information on financial assistance, scholarships, and materials that help students with disabilities transition into college, university, career-technical schools, or other postsecondary programs.

All our material is free of charge. We encourage students, parents, schools, DSS offices, others to distribute and refer to our products for information and resources. Our features include:

NEWS pages are news items, updates and announcements of special interest relating to postsecondary education, career and technical education, and young adults with disabilities.
FAQs pages provide the answers to frequently asked questions.

Welcome!  Does that include learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD?  I work with a few older students who have a variety of LDs.

Thanks for asking--It includes anyone (everyone) who qualifies as an individual with a disabilty.

You may find the information we have to date about a particular topic, disabilty, or issue just by using our search feature located in the upper right corner of our site.

Hi Donna, and welcome. I've mentioned the Heath Center here and on other sites many times, and have passed it along to many families as well. It is a WONDERFUL resource, probably the best out there for students with any sort of disability. Thank you for sharing the information again.

I appreciate it. And I'm very excited I just discovered your site, and included it in my resources for parents on our LINKS and announced it in our NEWS blog http://www.heath.gwu.edu/taxonomy/term/3.

We are developing new modules directed to high school students to answer their questions about postsecondary education options and realities. I'm also working on one geared towards parents answering their concerns. And a third will be directed towards the college staff/professor to help guide and prepare them to assure our students graduate....Stay tuned :D
