I am not sure if this is true country wide or not, but Thursday, May 1st, my D informs me, is the day that everyone is supposed to wear the Tshirt/sweatshirt to school of their college of choice. She is looking forward to that day! I think it sounds fun to publicize to all your classmates where you are ending up. It also gives the Juniors a look at colleges they may not otherwise have considered. I know in my Ds school last year she came home that day talking about the various choices and the kids who chose them. It is almost like the prom ritual for high school students here.
How fun!
Do you high schools do this, too? Or, is this just an anomaly of her public high school?

Outwest:
Once D3 selected Illinois Wesleyan, she has worn her sweatshirt (on cool days) or her t-shirt (including today) on warm days.
So to her, enery day has been college shirt day.

My D wears her Smith hoodie frequently. She discovered that most of her classmates find it funny, thinking that the name "Smith" is a joke, as in "Anonymous Univ."

Yes, they have college gear day at my son's high school. So, yesterday was his birthday and my sister and brother-in-law, jokers that they are, gave him boxer shorts covered in the logos of the school he will attend next year.
He plans to wear them to school on May 1. Visibly. I suggested perhaps another pair underneath????

| Thanks. I have come to appreciate it myself, now that the cocoon seems to be shredding and the god of mute has evolved or returned to the cheerful and even talkative kid I remembered from his little bitty guy days.

Alumother, are you going to add his acceptances and decision to the master list? I've been wondering how he fared!

| Our HS does not have such a t-shirt day. However, a bunch of seniors have setup a HS facebook account where they are posting their college choices. Last edited on Thu May 1st, 2008 04:23 pm by DesperateDad
