"She is not a happy camper as she will be missing a test in one of her classes and doubts the teacher will accept "Stupid Mother" as a make-up excuse.
D's mood has picked up now that she's had a chance to call all her friends at college and tell them about her mother's stupidity. Nothing like proving how dumb your Mom really is to bring cheer to the holidays."
A pretty rushed Thanksgiving, but it was good to see the boy. He flew to Oklahoma to meet up with us -- we had planned a surprise birthday party for my Mother's 80th on Wednesday, and then had Thanksgiving with them and my brothers. Then flew back to Delaware on Friday, and S finally flew back to school on Sunday. Lot of air time for all of us. S looked good and was in a good mood. We never saw him once we got back to Delaware, since he only had a day and a half to catch up with his friends.
All in all, very nice but I look forward to a longer Xmas break.
I am known for messing up travel dates. 20 years ago, my dad was at the airport waiting to pick me and my new husband up from our honeymoon. We weren't on the plane and when he called our hotel in Barbados, he was told that we were not guests there (we were on a different employee list). I had looked at the ticket once upon arrival and then put it in "a safe place". He called hospitals, police etc and finally got someone at the hotel to track us down. I had us leaving the next day. I still hear about what I put him through!
