I am a rising senior from a rainy, hockey-crazed city in Canada. I enjoy running and biking in my spare time, not to mention the classic "long walks on the beach". Right now I am mourning the end of this year's x-country season. At the city championships last week, I qualified for the state finals (which are more commonly known as provincials here); unfortunately I had to take the SATs and missed out on the big race. *slaps SATs*

Next year, I hope to pursue psychology/writing/journalism/biology - something in those areas, though I'm still relatively undecided. I am a little lost on which colleges to consider ... hence the need for admissions advice. I stumbled across this site in my hunt and already like how it lives up to its name. So far it has been very informative, and I have learned a lot just by randomly clicking around.

Hi Poppet,

Welcome!

Have you considered cognitive science? Combines psych and bio.

Welcome, my D is also mourning the end of XC season.  She was one individual runner away from qualifing for State this week, and the rest of the team did not qualify as a team.

You will find this site very helpful.  Good luck in your college search.

Hi, Poppet.  Sounds like you're starting at the right time - research now makes the whole process easier.  Note I said "easier", not "easy" !!

When you get further down the road in knowing what types of institutions you may want to consider, the group on this site will be about the most welcome and helpful people you'll ever "meet".  Best of luck.
