I know that this has probably answered before here, but I can't find the answer so thought someone could help.

When a college needs a common application supplement, can these be filled out and submitted online with the common app, or do they have to be printed out and submitted by snail mail?

Thanks for any help!

It depends on the college. Most of them require the supplements be filled out online and submitted electronically, but occasionally they are required to be printed and mailed.

And while the majority of colleges allow the Common Application to be submitted separately from the supplement, there are some colleges that require that the supplements be submitted at the same time as the Common Application. Those are called "All-In-1 Institutions" on the Common App's website.

We had a bit of confusion when S subitted the Caltech app. It is an all-in-one institution, but you still need to submit the seperately. We assumed that when we submitted to CIT, they both would go.

Just a tip, in case you haven't noticed it, but when you are in the online common app, if you look in the left hand column that has all the links to the pages, there is one called "supplements." If you have already entered a college under "My colleges" and click on the supplements tab, it will open a screen showing you the links directly to each school's supplement.
