OH!!! I am SO happy to hear that your son got into Elon! Congratulations to him, and to you also, for a job well done. I will look forward to hearing your reports about his progress next year. Wonderful news!

Congrats to all these kids!!!:D:D

They know they are in SOMEWHERE!  It was a very difficult and anxious time for our D last winter waiting to hear from her schools, especially after her friends starting hearing from the EA/ED and rolling admissions schools. Once she received her first letter of acceptance in mid-March, she was visibly relieved.

Adding my congrats to everyone.  And Lderochi, what a wonderful feeling to be done, and to have that first choice in hand!  I'm jealous.

Whoo-hoo! (East Tenn. for "That's wonderful!") Congrats, lderochi, both for the Elon acceptance and for being DONE!

Kudos to all the kids with acceptances (and to those working hard on apps)!

Thanks to everyone on this site for all the support and good thoughts. Good luck to everybody as the ED and EA notification season kicks into high gear! If your school has online notification you might want to stay up late the night before the decisions are due. Elon's system rolled over to the new "Congratulations" message right about 12:00:01

Let me add my congrats, too. Just promise me, Lderochi, that you're not going to disappear because you're done! You have way too much wisdom to go dormant!

Naah. Too addictive -- that "other" site is as well, but it appears to have been down all morning, or maybe its just my connection.

No, it's down for me too. (I was just thinking - today is Dec. 1, so there are some apps due today - I hope the server for those apps is up!)

lderochi, no, it's not just you, the site (at least the discussion site) is down. Too much traffic, probably.;)

lderochi, CONGRATULATIONS!  I was wondering which school was going to be ED. I am so glad to learn that it is ELON! Nice to be finished, and know where he is heading in the fall! That is wonderful news. Keep us up to date about everything regarding Elon! I have only heard about good things!

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone else on your acceptances so far! I know that there are many more to come, and I am waiting to hear where everyone decides to go. It will be May 1st before you now it!

Lderochi:

Our GC really liked ELON, wanted her son to attend, but Bucknell was his choice.   Hope all goes well for your son.

Update:

CalifCarolyn's D:  Cal State Fullerton

Chedva's D:  University of Vermont (the only EA or rolling school on her list!)

Entomom's D:  UWisconsin-Madison

Lderochi's S:  Lenoir-Rhyne, Emory & Henry, Lynchburg, Winthrop, Elon (ED)

Mom61's S:  Northern Arizona U

Momof3boys: University of Texas at Austin!

Newberry's S:  Rensselaer

WestrnMom's S:  Cal Poly Pomona

Congratulations to all, and I'm pleased to be able to join this group so early in the season!  RPI has an application option they call "Candidate's Choice" with promise of an admission decision in 28 days although student commitment is not required until May 1.  A few days ago we were struggling with mixed messages about whether or not all the HS application materials had even been sent, so the acceptance letter (email--no thick envelop) was a pleasant surprise.
S is still in the thick of application preparation, but the atmosphere in our household has changed for the better (and I have finally learned to spell Rensselaer--I think).
