can all the 2007 parents relax or is there more to worry about

As a certified Jewish mother, I can assure you that there is always more to worry about!  :D

(Old joke: Jewish telegram - Start worrying. Details to follow.)

Carolyn-you should see if you can find a gif of a roll of duct tape to add to your emoticons--I know I would have used it this year in my posts ;)

Calif Carolyn, you gave me an idea! I don't know how to make emoticons, but I figured out how to make an avatar of a picture of duct tape! I plan to keep using my palm tree avatar, but I switched to the new one temporarily to show you guys. If anyone wants it, I'll be more than happy to email you the file if you PM me :)

I LOVE this! OK, I'm stealing :// and  for the future. And, Pat, if you could "lend" me the duct tape avator, I would be honored to use it. Can't think of a better symbol.

Congratulations to ABMom, Cindy, CalifMom, and kids! I was looking at the list thinking of all the collective hours of hard work. I'm in awe of all these kids.

Yeah, Chedva, I'm with you; now it's on to the next thing to worry about. :)

And LOVE the duct tape avatar and emoticon!

What are we worrying about now?  For me, it's senioritis among the teachers, not the kids.  One in particular seems to be coming down very, very hard on a few seniors, mine included, and I'm trying to find out why.  I'm counting the days until finals are over...

Carolyn,

I e-mailed you the avatar. Now you have to tell me how you got the little red emoticon in your post!

WestrnMom, I'm sorry to hear about the teacher troubles. Are you going to contact him/her? Let us know how it goes?

S seems to be enjoying his AP government class, but AP Calc BC concerns me. He's found it much harder than AB (to be expected). However, his girlfriend has been coming over to help him through it. She, BTW, chose UChicago, so they'll both be in the midwest.

If you give me, oh, a day or so, I'm sure I'll come up with a list of things. :P

lets see...worries...I think it is just the volume of things to do between now and June 7th...D is directing a 1-Act play, performing in Season Finale at her school, we have 3 major ceremonies for Girl Scouts for her, she is preparing 2 slide shows one of them will be shown at Graduation and at a Tribute to the Music and Theater Conservatory Students (kids are submitting photos of their 6 years at the school), oh an 18th birthday party, a 29th birthday party for her sis, all while keeping up grades and taking her on-line placement test for French at Valpo---oh she also goes to Valpo for Freshman Focus (Orientation) June 10th ;)
whew now I am tired...better go to work so I can relax ;)

I just copied and pasted it from the link. I'm trying to figure out how to add it to the board Emoticons.

Thanks Patsmom for the avator!

Just one more duct tape reference now that I have had mine surgically removed. Doesn't Prairie Home Companion have a bit about the Duct Tape Council. Personally, I like the Ketchup Advisory Board. All those mellowing agents.

Limner, after consulting with parents wiser than I am, I'm not going to say anything to the teacher. I desperately want to, however he needs to handle it himself. So far, he is.

WestrnMom, I understand. And, aside from the maturation issues of letting the kid handle it, sometimes a parent stepping in makes it worse by alienating the teacher--who then takes it out on the kid.

My mom wrote a scathing letter to my first-grade teachers when they kept me in school with a 102 degree temp, despite my requests to see the school nurse. It made my mom feel better, but it didn't help my relationship with those teachers at all. My mom swore she'd never do that again.

Limner, mine doesn't have senioritis but some of the other seniors do.  I found out that is what is behind the very stern and unreasonable teaching going on.  Most of the teachers aren't taking it out on the good students, but a few are here and there.  We are trying to just get through the next few weeks, and then breathe a big sigh of relief!
