| Thank you, Carolyn! It's Cal Poly Pomona! Great engineering school. I'm so relieved. He has the stats they are looking for (over their avg GPA and test scores), but they have only a 23% admit rate, and they are known for taking a majority of their students from local high schools (which we are not). I need to catch up a bit. Some additional good news has come in recently. Although he made a visit to Lynchburg and it just didn't "click" with him, so it's not an option.

Congratulations to everyone with early news!
Lderochi, do most of your son's choices have early admissions? S was able to apply early but most of the schools don't let them know until January or later.

WMom -- Absolutely! As it turns out, only one of my son's applications have the "traditional" April 1 decision date. All the others were either rolling admissions, one EA application (mid-December) and one ED application (December 1). Just the way it worked out -- he looked at several other schools that had the traditional notification calendar, but they fell by the wayside for one reason or another.
Honestly, I can understand now how stressed out those kids (and parents) can get if they have to wait for April 1 for all of their decisions.

Chedva, Congratulations to your D. I hope that she can relax while she waits for the rest of her acceptances!
I remember my son's first acceptance came 10 days after he sent out his application. He got it in early October, and we were all so excited!

Congrats to all of you with these early admissions; it is such a stress-reducer to have that in hand now! One of the things I learned early, from CC I think, was to have one rolling admissions on the slate of colleges to apply to. Definitely made our life easier, as we continued to struggle with the other apps and auditions and and interviews and visits, to have an early admission in hand.
