My D heard today about Lewis and Clark: in EA 
This was QUITE a surprise as they say they notify by January 15th! We were so surprised that she heard a month early! She has narrowed her schools way down so that ALL her choices are excellent fits. What an exciting time. They said her EA packet was on its way and we are crossing fingers for a smidge of merit.

I haven't visited in a while - wonderful to see all the great acceptances! Adding my d's ED acceptance at William & Mary. We received excellent advice on this board about several aspects of her application, so thanks to all! It has been her dream school since she helped her older sister move in in August of 2001.

| We found out Saturday my D got rejected at MIT. Started to get worried she wasn't getting in anywhere so it was great news to find out today that she was accepted at Suny New Paltz. At least now I know she will be going to college somewhere. i was starting to panic even thought I knew her chances of getting into MIT were slight. That first rejection makes you think that you totally have figured everything out wrong.

I am very proud (and relieved) to announce that my son just became a REEDIE, class of 2012!!!!!!!!! From the moment he stepped foot on campus, there was never any doubt in his mind. Now maybe he'll let me wash the Reed sweatshirt he's had on for months.

Congratulations to all - Carolyn, you in particular. Your son sounds like he has found the perfect place for himself. I am so happy for you.
And I confess, wildly jealous. Aaargh. S has to date submitted only the UC apps. I am doing my best to be pure of heart and feel only happiness for you but as I said, I confess, jealousy follows not far behind.
But don't let it have any impact on what should be a wild rumpus at your house. How wonderful.

Carolyn, I think we all feel like we have a stake in your kids' acceptances! Congratulations - and how did you manage to have both kids done in December??

And to those who haven't - I was there last year, waiting until April. As much as it doesn't seem so today, you will survive it! April will come!

Way to go, Carolyn's son!!! Wait until Mackinaw hears this.
I want to add that my D received a very sweet Dean's Scholarship offer from Lewis & Clark in her EA 'big envelope' that came today. This means that she WILL be able to go to a liberal arts college, no matter what else happens. She was half thinking she would be going to a community college since she refused to apply to the UC's (too big). She is very jazzed about getting her applications done to the other schools now. We are thrilled!
