I just printed out all the financial aid procedures for my D's colleges. Wellesley requires all forms for regular decision in by January 8th! I think that is unreasonable. I don't even have W2's yet or any of the house info. I realize that most schools have a February 1st deadline. Even then you have to estimate, but Jan. 8th? Since Wellesley has been iffy since day one and the supplement has not been finished, I think I will ask my D if she really wants to apply there.
Grinnell has their own form plus the fafsa. All the rest use the Profile- which you have to pay for.

This doesn't answer your question, but I thought I should put in a plug for Wellesley before it gets axed from your D's list. We just returned from a quick trip to Boston/Providence. The Wellesley campus was absolutely stunning, and the town was charming. At the moment, we can't convince our HS junior D to go for a women's college, but we haven't given up! My SIL, a Mt. Holyoke grad, will be working her over too. Even our college sophomore S said, wow, too bad this place doesn't take guys.

Outwest:
The Profile can be estimated as can the FAFSA. Each can be upgraded later or adjusted when the income tax forms are completed. Wellesley surely understands that no one has w2's and estimates are just that.
Heck D3 had an early action school that required the Profile by Dec 1.
Wellesley is an excellent school, hang on and give it your best estimate.
Good luck!

Yah, perhaps. I did a rough questimate today on the fafsa. It is really rough. All I have is the last pay stubs on the year for DH and I. I guess I can look at last years return and figure our deductibles will be similar, too. Other then that, it will be sorta/kinda around the ballpark.
I looked at the Profile today, too. They want to know if I have any money under the mattress that they should know about. It is really intrusive, but I suppose if you are asking for money they have a right to ask if you've got any (or if you could possibly sell that boat).
I hate these forms. I even called my tax guy to ask him if he could just take care of it for me and he didn't know anything about them!

| Just make sure that your tax guy is on notice that you need your taxes done and finalized ASAP!

By the way, outwest, one thing about the profile is that it automatically "customizes" the questions it asks based on your previous answers and I think the colleges you are applying to. For some families, that means more intrusive questions than others.
When WILL you be putting your yaught up for sale?
